I don't think I'm alone when I say there is a lot of
garbage on the radio in terms of hip hop. There's a lot of fire on
the underground scene but why can't the underground fire writers
get the same airplay? I don't know, you tell me if I'm buggin
but why are grown men running around like a bunch of kids acting
wreckless? I just have a problem when I see a six year old singing
"I think I'm Big Meech, Larry Hoover", etc. No disrepsect to Rick
Ross or any "mainstream" rappers but me being an artist, I take
pride in rappin about unity to uplift those who need
uplifting.
I never shot anybody, got shot, sold crack or pimped
women so I can't lie about those things in my rhymes. I've been
around thugs and killaz and I know real from fake. People let's not
accept mediocracy, a hard beat or catchy hook does not make a song.
Being born and raised in New York, I seen the ups and downs of
emcees portraying something they're not. I think the truest way to
be an emcee is to be yourself, even if you're just a "regular
dude."
