HALL OF FAME

Image description

After dropping his first studio album "Finally Famous", Big Sean didn't stop there. To keep his fans going, he dropped his mix tape "Detroit" and he was one of the few featured on "Cruel Summer" a G. O. O. D music production. However, his sophomore album, the album we have all been waiting on was finally released on Tuesday!

"Hall of Fame" features Miguel, Juicey J, Nicki Minaj, Nas, and his G. O. O. D Music friend Kid Cudi plus more. However, due to sampling issues, Control featuring Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica did not make the album. According to a recent interview with Power 105 Breakfast Club, a few things didn't make it to the album.

Big Sean's original plan was to make this album better than the first one. Not to rush it, to add more skits, and show the world how much he improved as an artist. Knowing how the industry is, a few road blocks occurred preventing him from making the album he really wanted. However, he is still proud of "Hall of Fame".

Problem 1: Record labels cap albums to certain limit. Meaning some labels only allow 12 to 14 songs max on an album and anything over can either be cut or paid for out of your own pocket*** Big Sean pushed to get all 15 songs in the album, but he had to sacrifice a few skits (from his original plan) and include some skits within the song. Word is he had an amazing skit featuring Mike Tyson.
Problem 2: The sampling in "Control" wasn't cleared in time to make the album. Releasing the song on the album could have stirred up some unnecessary legal issues. Big Sean did release the song to the public which pushed the culture of Hip Hop to a whole other level.

Not a lot of problems, however the two problems listed didn't take away from the album. In fact, there are some really amazing songs. 10 2 10, Fire, Nothing is Stopping You, Milf, Beware, and Ashley are a few of my favorites.

Inside the amazing songs are some deep meanings as well, so the songs actually hold some value to them. First Chain featuring Nas and Kid Cudi talks about their road to their success on earning their first chain and coming from nothing to something. Ashley featuring Miguel talks about his previous relationship and how much he has respect for her; it was his special way of paying homage to her. Of course, his girlfriend Naya Rivera heard the song and loved it.

I don't want to give away too much, however, Big Sean's "Hall of Fame" is in stores NOW!!! Definite must listen to and must have!!
