I’m an aspiring singer, songwriter, arranger and producer; music is my vice. I currently live in New Jersey but I’m originally from Brooklyn, New York. I’ve been in hiding for the past 8 years perfecting my craft. Now, I’m ready to venture out into the world and showcase my talent. I’m at the point in my life where fear doesn’t live here anymore! I could care less about what others think about my music because I know my worth and the talent that God has chosen for me to have.
I started to take music seriously when I came across my music partner and mentor, Zoser. He suggested that I invest in music equipment and that’s exactly what I did. As soon as I bought my Mac computer and Pro-tools, it was a wrap. I’m currently using Logic Pro X and it’s definitely great to create music with. I’m inspired by all genres of music. I feel that each style of music brings a certain ingredient to the mix! As long as there is color in a song I’m all in! The artists who’ve really inspired me through out the years have been Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Teena Marie, Neyo, Elle Varner, Erykah Badu, Marsha Ambrosious, and many more! I’m inspired to write about a lot of my experiences in my life as a healing process as well as other people’s experiences. I like to bring the old with the new as we are in a new era of sound in music.
I love music to the core and I love to take risks. I don’t follow the music protocol in terms of writing style and I guess that’s what makes me different. When industry people would hear my music their reaction was positive and say I’m dope but they didn’t know how to place me. This is why I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands by putting out my own album; it will be completed by this fall. If you’re different, embrace it and go the independent route. If not, keep striving because there will always be that one person in the world that will believe in your talent and give you that window of opportunity. That’s how Biggie, Jay Z, Timberland & Missy, and Mary J. Blige came into the picture and changed this whole music game. Whether I get there or not, I’m always going to do what I love best!
I describe my music to be very melismatic as in Gregorian chant. I love creating harmonies. I feel that it transforms a track as your vocals are instruments too and I love to take full advantage of that. I’m currently working on an 80’s mix tape with Green Studio NYC. I’m so excited and love the track that I’m working on. This mix tape is going to be serious and I feel honored to be working on this project with other talented artists and producers! Make sure you stay tuned because the mix tape will be released next month! My experience at Green Studio NYC has been unforgettable. I love their vibe and the emotion that they put into their craft!
